Before the school year started, I asked Creativity for Kids, company that sells open-ended art activities that stimulate creative thinking, to donate 24 Creativity Cans full of interesting stuff for my students to put together in new and fascinating ways. They came through and I received in the mail a box of fun. To see pictures of their creations check out our Facebook page. Like us while you are there!
NEWS! Armadillo Technical Institute is now part of the Take Charge of Education Program at Target. People that have a Target card can add this school to their card so that every time they use their card our school will receive a 5% donation. The number is 800-316-6142. The holiday season is approaching!
Don’t forget about Amazon Smile. Your purchases can help ATI! Go to http://smile.amazon.com/ch/93-1285370 to indicate that ATI is their non-profit of choice, and to shop away through the Smile portal. Pretty great way to get some free bucks.
The teachers requested a half day inservice for additional training and decided on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to do it.
Your students will be released at 11:30am on Wednesday 11/26/14 to start that 4-day weekend a little earlier!
Anyone who makes an Amazon purchase through their Smile campaign can sign up for ATI to be their non-profit of choice, in which Amazon will donate 0.5% of the value of the purchase to ATI, directly to our bank account.
Here I was about to make a post asking our wonderful Armadillo community to band together to help us buy $500 worth of new books for our library through Donors Choose (a crowdfunding website dedicated to helping schools), and an anonymous donor beat me to the punch. The project was posted on Donors Choose three days ago and was fully funded today! Join us in eager anticipation for fresh boxes of books!
One such project we are still hoping to fund is from our science teacher Jesse. He wants to buy seven new Chromebooks for his classes that will interface with the electronic sensor equipment used during experiments, allow him to share information with students, monitor their progress and facilitate his project-based curriculum. To help us reach our Chromebook goal please follow this link.
Keep checking our website or our facebook page for future opportunities to help ATI reach, meet, and exceed our potential.
